I remember a few years ago while I was on vacation in Albania with some relatives, we tried to drive through the sand of the beach. It was not long before my friend, who was driving a car, got stuck in the sand. He barely gave it a couple of times or three and said; “Buli, dil nxirre se ti ia din renin kerrit tan…”. OK. I got off the driver’s side, and gave him some gas, but no. I gave him a little more, but again without success. “Iii Buli… you had this 4 × 4…”. This sentence of my friend made me a little nervous and I started to press the accelerator pedal harder and more often, but the car was already getting deeper and deeper in the sand until it was made to pull it out with a rope, pulling some boys from Kosovo.
This event slightly ruined my evening and that boast a few minutes ago that my car is 4 × 4, that it has 170 horsepower and others. But what was I thinking when the car was already sinking deeper and deeper into the sand? !!! In fact, I thought nothing of it. I was trying to solve a problem by following the instincts and pride I had for my car. I lost all that energy to finally lower my head to seek help from some strangers.
Now imagine your business as a car! What to do when the business starts to falter, stagnate, or even worse – sink into successive failures ?!
Sometimes, indecision or stubbornness can take control over us, and we become our own risk when we start to insist on something and find no progress. We know that at some point it is time to make a difference, but feelings rule over reason. We expend a lot of energy until the moment we lose patience and finally that feeling of disappointment begins.
This must not happen in business. Entrepreneurs need to be self-motivated and driven by passion to achieve success.
Motivation and passion are the fuels that push the entrepreneur to achieve success with his business.
The entrepreneur must be active, he must take action when necessary. The entrepreneur does not ask permission for his actions, he continues to walk, to pursue his goals.
Suddenly, it sometimes happens that the entrepreneur falls face down on the ground. Roadblocks cause him to make mistakes of which he was not even aware. There are some invisible forces that pull it back, that start to push it down, just like my car in the sand. But the anger and the despair must not be allowed to invade the mind and reason. The entrepreneur who loves success, does not let frustrations overwhelm his emotions. The Emotions and the business should never be mixed together. Emotions will get you out of control and will not let you think! The entrepreneur does not get stuck where he does not have the place.
The best way to solve problems in business (or in life) is very simple: SEEK HELP! Just like I asked for help from those guys who were watching us while we were trying to get out of the sand.
Do not try to do everything alone! Please don’t!
Let go of your pride, your energy, your stubbornness and your passion. Ask for help from relatives, friends, strangers. Ask them to share your business offers on social media. Ask them to spread the word about your business in meetings with their friends.
Seek help from your employees. Business success is found in teamwork.
And if you have a mentor, then you have nothing to expect.
